Rubicon Partners: Who We Are Film

The brief

Rubicon Partners backs industrial and commercial businesses across the country, and it wanted people to see the range of them and hear from the inside what being backed by Rubicon is like.

Every private equity firm says it supports the businesses it backs. A film of Rubicon saying so proves very little, and the people who can say it with authority are the ones running those businesses. So they said it, in their own words.

The shoot

We went to the businesses rather than bringing them to a studio. That meant filming at Centriforce in Liverpool, Bamboo in Essex, Ring Automotive Supplies in Leeds and Avove at its Hucknall Lane site in Nottingham, with chief executives and finance directors talking on their own ground about what working with Rubicon has been like.

We filmed each leader at Centriforce, Bamboo, Ring Automotive Supplies and Avove, with no studio. Most of the work on the day is making the interview feel like a conversation, so what they say sounds like them.

The edit

Anyone weighing up Rubicon hears, in just over two minutes, what working with it is like from the people who know. One says the firm will "help us run the business without telling us how to run our business." Another says simply that "the level of trust in Rubicon was total."
