Culture / Recruitment Film. A recruitment film for a challenger bank, with OakNorth's own people filmed where they do their best work. Candidates meet them before they apply.

The brief

OakNorth was growing fast and hiring, and it wanted top end candidates to see, before they applied, what a highly driven, fast growing bank is like from the inside.

Rather than a presenter reading out the company values, we let the staff make the case. Most of the people at OakNorth joined because they wanted to build something rather than maintain something, so that is the story the film tells.

Preproduction

Once we had a raft of inspiring people and stories, we honed the script, built a storyboard and planned the shoot around each contributor, so every one of them could be filmed in the place they do their best work.

How we filmed it

We filmed for two days, each contributor in the place they do their best work, and only one of them was a performer. Everyone else works at the bank, so the days depended on putting each person at ease in the time we had, and each of them later recorded their own voiceover just as readily.

The edit

We added attention grabbing music, a colour grade, effects and text, and stock footage to show what a "boring" office looks like. The people stay the focus.

More work with OakNorth

The recruitment film is one of many we have made for OakNorth, from testimonials with happy customers to films that showcase the bank's standout expertise. Two more are below. There's more financial services work on our work page, including the ASK Partners investor films.
